For the Royal Navy

The largest garden fete in the history of Peel County is held on the grounds of the Hobberlin residence in Port Credit. A volunteer jitney service runs between Lorne Park, Erindale, Cooksville, Clarkson, Brampton and Oakville and the Toronto-Hamilton Highway Commission sends men to direct traffic. Attendance is estimated at 5,000 and nearly $4,000 will be turned over to the navy league for the benefit of British sailors.
