Farmers’ Sons

Reports from the province indicate that young men desperately needed to produce crops are not being exempted from enlistment by their local tribunals. Gen. Mewburn, Minister of the Militia, clarifies this conditional offer: “If farmers sons who are honestly engaged in farm work and the production of foodstuffs… are not exempted by the tribunals… I will have them honorably discharged from the Canadian expeditionary force, provided they go back to the farms.”
