Food Service Pledge

“Every time cornmeal is used where wheat products were once used, we help to win the war” reads this segment in the domestic science column of The Review. The recipes here encourage domestic homemakers to substitute wheat consumption with cornmeal. One month later, the Women’s Auxiliary posts notices in The Review for women to sign the Food Service Pledge, an initiative that aims to get all families in Peel County and across the country to substitute other nutritious foods in the place of high-demand products, which are desperately needed by the allies in Europe.
