The Canadian Red Cross searches for Pte. G. B. Kipp who went missing at the Regina Trench near the Somme battlefield on October 8, 1916. A solemn conclusion to the search is announced several months later in the Streetsville Review on June 7, 1917 as it was determined he was killed in action. Kipp died at 23 years of age, having been on the front for only three weeks. Prior to enlisting, he held a job as a printer for The Streetsville Review.
