Men Wanted for Navy

The Royal Naval Canadian Volunteer Reserve (RNCVR) urges men for immediate service overseas. By 1916, a policy is adopted to recruit volunteers at Canadian rates of pay higher than British pay scales held in Canada in the hopes that more men will volunteer. With an aim of recruiting 2000 men by the end of the year, only 851 men volunteer by January 1917.
